Opinion Openers

Opinion Openers are approaches that do not convey interest. You're not complimenting her, or hitting on anyone. They are best used on mixed/large sets.

A way to lead into the opener is to start with 'I need a female perspective on something', 'I have to hook up with my friends in a minute, but, really quickly, let me get your take on something'. The latter uses the false time constraint, which is key so the set won't think that you'll be hanging around for too long.

There are many common opinion openers. Examples include:

My best friend's girlfriend found a box hidden in the dresser drawer and she's upset. It's nothing bad, just pictures of him and his exs on holiday and old love letters. She's freaking out and wants him to get rid of them or she's threatening to break up. Is this normal female behaviour? She wants him to burn them or she's leaving him.

When using an opinion opener, it's vital to have a reason why you're asking it. So be prepared for girls asking why are you asking? You'll need to say 'the reason I'm asking or because'. It helps therefore if it's something that's actually happened in your life. I've had opinion openers sometimes go on for too long or sometimes the target brings it up in another interaction. If the opener is going on too long, then cut the thread short, try to transition into a DHV story, so you may want to think ahead, but every interaction is different. Some sets get really into them, others not so much.
